Safe Harbor Marinas (SHM) / Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC) is a Blackstone-owned marina network that intervened in CMR v. SYG (DE 61, Mar 29, 2024). SHM's own amended complaint (DE 94-2, filed by Akerman's Rogers/Cichowski) contains the email documenting that SYG's Florida Annual Resale Certificate (#16-8014975102-2) was used by SHM to invoice approximately $1M in marina charges on CMR's account — including $443,783.16 that SYG paid directly but which was credited to CMR's account on Ivankovich's direction. Under threat of vessel seizure and marina lockout, SYG was forced to pay approximately $234K in a settlement and drop a $12M+ counterclaim on January 31, 2025. SHM's failure to collect Florida sales tax on ~$1M in marina services triggers FL §212.06 dealer liability.
